Mmmmm, cake.
GLaDOS is the SHODAN of a brave new generation.
I love it when I spend a little time working out a tricky architecture issue, work out how to implement it, and then go to add it to my application - only to discover that I did that exact piece of work in exactly the same way a couple of months ago. That means I must have done it right! And now, it’s done!
Hooray! I’m smart! Now if I can only remember where I left my glasses…
Crap. I stayed up all night again. I’m still way behind, on everything, and I’ve got a big list of stuff that absolutely needs to happen today - that’s supposed to be me making stuff happen. Like that dentist thing. Rugh. And taking care of that speeding ticket. And getting my allergy shots. And mailing a bunch of games and stuff. And all the work that still needs polishing and the rehearsals I’m supposed to be at and the staying at home and doing stuff here I need to do… and instead of doing stuff, or at least sleeping so I can do stuff, I stay awake and do nothing because I can’t get to sleep until it’s too late. Stupid weekends, or stupid brain.
Well, had a handful of good shows over the weekend to show for it all, anyway. Er, not to show for it, but they were there, and now they’re over. It’s all pretty much like that, to some extent, hm?
Okay, a little bit more work, then the sleeping. Then the waking up and the meeting and the shots and the errands and the stuffy stuff. And then a week more full of stuff to do, and then I go to New York for a week for a super secret project. Shhh!
These giant jawbreakers from the Big Top Candy Shop are an excellent sugartime value.
In other news, one of my big fillings cracked, and I lost a bunch of pieces of it in a post-maestro piece of chewing gum a couple of weekends ago. I haven’t even called the dentist yet, because a) I’m lazy, and it doesn’t hurt, b) I’ve got a pretty full day of… stuff, every day, and c) I still don’t have dental insurance, and last time I was in for a cleaning, he said that the cracked filling was too big to re-fill, and I’d need a bridge or something, which is, like, expensive and stuff. So, putting that off. Because that’s the smart thing to do, right?
Tonight, rehearsal with a new Heibergian minion, and two IFE shows back to back at the Hideout tomorrow night. Busy!
