Wow. If anyone decides that they want to send me a Christmas present, you could do a lot worse than to choose pretty much any one of these shirts. I’m down with OCP.
The Zombie Survival Kit is pretty rad, too.
Also, I decided that I like Southland Tales. A lot, I think. I’m going to have to track down the graphic novel prequels to get the whole scoop, but there’s a whole bunch of stuff going on there that seems worth digging into. Looking forward to those extra twenty minutes, too.
Speaking of movies, here’s two stinkers that you’ve probably already missed - the new (or either, really) Fantastic Four movie, and SimOne. I recommend continuing to not see those if you haven’t, and I extend my deepest condolences if you have.
And speaking of nothing in particular, I finally caught the Battlestar Galactica Razor stuff last night. Yay, old-school centurions. No real new development stuff, but a nice bit of backfill and character work. Can’t wait for the next/last season.
Last night, I ordered an out-of-print book about “Games Around Treasure Island“. I think that’s what it was, anyway, because it’s in German. It always makes me nervous to order stuff from websites in languages that I don’t know. I mostly got it for the detailed instructions on building a Piratenbillard table - now that my wood shed/shop is cleaned out, maybe I can start building stuff again - but it looks like there are a bunch of other neat new games in there, too. Now all I have to do is learn German.
If there’s one thing I excel at, it’s finding yaks to shave.

I have a Piratenbillard table if you want to use it for comparison purposes. Two caveats: don’t use ultra-thin cloth (ours busted) and make extra balls (we never retrieved all ours). We got it from the terrific kids catalog, Hearthsong, where they sold it as Cannonball Capture awhile back. Hey, if you’re making games in the shop, some of the local Round Rock guys have made their own Crokinole boards. I’m sure they’d supply help if you want to tackle that. They’re still $250 online for decent ones. Oooh, and make a WeyKick for sure!!
Liked the tee shirt link. If Polymer Records were a little spiffier I would’ve got it. Eric got a workshirt embroidered with Kwikie Mart at Alamo - do you know how to get a name badge for it? I’m getting a Miskatonic University shirt for Xmas. Guess I’ll be a professor there.
